I think that the releases on my new label Grand Plans are probably the work I’m most proud of. There’s an enormous amount of satisfaction to be had in creating something really personal and then curating every aspect of the project (music, art, visuals) from beginning to end.
I’ve made a fairly broad scope of stuff over the years, so probably iTunes or Spotify are the best options for anyone wanting to have a listen.
How did you first hear of DMGAudio?I first heard of DMG Audio when I shared a studio space with Dave a few years back. The man is, quite frankly, a genius.
How would you describe our plugins? They are world class pro-audio tools, made with the user in mind. They manage to strike the right balance of being powerful and flexible, but also fun and easy to use. Using DMG plugins makes me feel awesome and happy. They’re reliable and stable, I trust them and they fit my workflow effortlessly. What I love about DMG Audio products is that they’re made with an attention to detail that’s not often seen among other developers.
What are your favourite DMGAudio plugins and how do they integrate with your workflow?EQuality is my go-to EQ and has been for 5 or 6 years now. I’ll generally use one as the first and last insert on every channel which keeps things exactly as I want them. EQuilibrium is great for the more surgical tasks and is incredibly well suited to mastering or post-production. TrackLimit makes it super easy to create playable pre-masters, and Dualism really does have everything you could ever want in terms of stereo analysis. Compassion works great as a bus limiter for me - and the visual feedback is wonderful.
Are there any tips for using our plugins that you’d like to share?Compassion: Although it might seem daunting at first, make sure that you do explore the advanced section as there’s a lot of tweakable parameters that can really expand/improve your processing results. The transient shaper in particular is outstanding.
Limitless: The oversampling clipper options and dither are great. Have a play around with those.
What are you hoping to see from us in the future?I’d personally love to see DMG get involved in more modulation plugins, and I also think you could do something really great with saturation and tape machine emulations.
